Create A Shift In Your Story

We all have these stories that we constantly tell ourselves...

“I am not good enough”
“I can’t do what that person has done or is doing”
“women are [...]” or “men are [...]”
“Who am I to be doing this or that”
“Money is the root of all evil”...etc...

These are normally fictional stories that we created during our early years. These stories helped us “survive” and make sense of our world then (parents, siblings, society, patterns we were exposed to...). However, they can be holding us back from what we truly want now that we have developed into our adult brain.

The key is to be aware of our thoughts and beliefs. When we react to something and are taken over by it, it is a call of attention for us to review our current beliefs. For example, I might react about not having enough of something or be good enough to do something...

We don’t have to judge these beliefs or classify them as good or bad. We can start by being aware of them, accepting the way they make us feel, and start defining other possibilities that could also be true.

Byron Katie has a tool called “the work” that is free online. It is a good way to expose yourself to reframing your reality and creating new beliefs that can serve better your purpose and finally end the same cycles of suffering that we have been repeating for years. Check it out if you are interested! Just know that there is a way and that you are more than capable of achieving anything that you want!

What are the beliefs that are holding you back? About yourself, your relationships or your work environment?

Let me know in the comments so I can address them with you or in future posts.
